About

Bridget fell in love with the classical guitar at age 13 when she first heard a recording of John Williams. Growing up in Penrith in the Lake District there were no teachers or players, so Bridget relied heavily on recordings for inspiration. Main influences at that time included John Williams, Julian Bream and David Russell. Eventually a teacher was located in Kendal and lessons began! As a teenager Bridget attended weekend courses and summer schools where she regularly received inspiring tuition from David Russell and many other international players. Next, Bridget studied at the Royal Academy of Music where she was thrilled to meet and receive masterclasses from her idols, John Williams and Julian Bream.

After many years of studying and performing Bridget became a professional teacher and now with 30 years of experience is highly respected worldwide. Bridget is an external examiner at the Royal College of Music in London and has taught in many schools and summer schools including the International Guitar Foundation, Royal Greenwich Guitar Festival and Helicon Arts Classical Guitar Course.

Over the past 18 years Bridget has become well known for her extensive output of solo and ensemble arrangements and recordings. Her solos have appeared in Guitar Techniques magazine (Future Publishing) for over 12 years and her performances can be seen on YouTube.  Bridget’s solo arrangements are now available in 4 volumes with approximately 30 arrangements per book, published by Hal Leonard . These can be found online and in music shops worldwide.
